Welcome

Hello!

And welcome to my blog.  Here, I'll post weekly on various topics related to living your best life and feeling comfortable inside and outside of your shell.  Whether you are visiting this as a parent looking for help for their child or an adult who is looking for ways to help themselves, you'll find what you're looking for here.  In the meantime, feel free to check out my Facebook page that has a ton of resources and information on stress, anxiety, and parenting.

Now, you might be thinking... wait, he's talking about kids and adults?  I thought therapists worked with one or the other?  Anxiety is anxiety.  It's unique to every individual, the only difference between children and adults is that the adult brain is developed enough to more easily understand their anxiety than the child's developing brain.

People who work with me know that I identify as a specialist in 3 areas related to mental health:

1) I specialize in anxiety/stress and how people can manage and resolve these.

2) I specialize in attachment, the process of human bonding and connection that dictates how we experience and navigate relationships, and how to make secure attachments.

3) Autism Spectrum Disorders and supporting individuals on the spectrum and their loved ones in having a fulfilling life.

The majority of my weekly blogs will revolve around at least on of these 3 areas.  Today's blog is going to be on what exactly anxiety and stress are and what purpose they serve.  I'll also have some links to help further explain what I write about here.

Stay tuned for my next post around the purpose of anxiety and what happens in the brain during times of stress.

I will typically be posting on Mondays. Feel free to comment on this post with topics you'd like to see me talk about related to any of the 3 areas I'll be writing about.

Until then, take care and be well.

-James
